ABOUT MILLENNIUM
MMAD
Whether you are a new employee or a Millennium veteran, you understand our Company's longstanding commitment to making a difference — for our patients, their families and healthcare providers, and in our communities. Millennium Makes A Difference (MMAD) exists to help interested employees contribute time and talent to our community.
Recent accomplishments include:

In our "Buck-A-Check" payroll deduction program, Millennium employees contributed nearly $100,000 to local charities.

Over 300 employees volunteered at 10 Cambridge- and Boston-area community service groups, from the Margaret Fuller House to the Greater Boston Food Bank, as part of our annual Community Service Day.

Adopted 5 single parent families recently out of abusive homes to provide holiday cheer by providing clothing, food gift certificates and toys.

We donated over 100 bags of clothing to Rosie's Place, Cradles to Crayons and the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans.

We regularly tutor children at the Morse School in Cambridge and serve food at the Friday Night Supper program serving Greater Boston's hungry and homeless.

We donated over 100 units of blood through our partnerships with the American Red Cross, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital.

We hosted a winner of Massachusetts High School Science Fair for a one week internship program.

What is Millennium Makes A Difference?
Millennium is a "socially and ethically responsible corporation." This commitment is embodied in our Core Values, and is a way of life at Millennium. In order to live this Core Value, Millennium Makes A Difference (MMAD) supports and encourages employee efforts to make a difference in our communities.
MMAD was started in 1997 by a group of motivated employees. While our programs have evolved, MMAD remains a grassroots-style organization, with programs suggested, created and run by our employees. Everyone is encouraged to participate.
MMAD Scientist in the Classroom Is there a teacher hidden inside of you? If yes, the MMAD Scientist in the Classroom Program may be just for you! Our Scientists visit local area schools to participate in their science programs and broaden our educational outreach in the community.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Through the nation's oldest and largest one-to-one mentoring program, this is a flexible, rewarding and fun volunteer opportunity. Rediscover the kid in you and make a difference in a child's life!
Friday Night Supper Every 2ndFriday of the month, Millennium sends 2 teams of 5 people each to prepare food (12-4.30) or serve food (4-7.30) to the several hundreds in need of a meal through the Friday Night Supper program. It's a great chance for a team-building activity, or to meet new co-workers while doing something fun and EXTREMELY worthwhile!
Buck-A-Check Contributions via Payroll Deductions Employees can make charitable contributions through convenient payroll deduction. Thanks to all participating employees, in 2005 we contributed more than $100,000 to Community Works, EarthShare of New England, and Community Health Charities of Massachusetts.
Community Service Day Each year in June, Millennium employees dedicate one work day to help several local non-profit organizations with painting, planting, cleaning and other chores. Past sites included the Margaret Fuller House, the Charles River Conservancy, and the Greater Boston Food Bank. Kids are always welcome! It's fun, exciting, rewarding and, most important, it makes a difference for our community.
Day to Serve As part of our annual employee benefits, each employee (alone or in a team) may dedicate one day a year with pay to charitable work. MMAD's "Day to Serve" program offers a great opportunity for team building!
Tutoring Millennium employees are involved in various programs with the Cambridge public schools, providing after-school tutoring and mentoring.
Holiday Giving To start our cold New England winters off right, MMAD's Holiday Giving program includes a craft fair, opportunities to "adopt"a needy family, a toy drive, a warm clothing drive, as well as a "Pennies for Pine Street Inn"campaign in our cafeteria.
Blood Drives Blood is always in short supply. Thanks to our on-site Red Cross blood drives, making a difference to this important cause is fast and convenient!
A-Thons Planning to raise money through a walk-a-thon or related activity? MMAD can help. If you raise more than $100 for an eligible organization, MMAD will add $100 to your collection.
Volunteering Want to volunteer, but unsure where to start? Contact MMAD for volunteering opportunities for you and your colleagues.
Cell Phone Recycling Donate your old cell phone for a good cause! Cell phones go to benefit the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center.
