Definition of Social Media

For our purposes, social media are online services where users can interact with one another. Millennium chooses to participate in some, but not all, of these services. Current channels in which Millennium participates:

Mission

Our mission is to deliver extraordinary medicines to patients with cancer worldwide through our science, innovation, and passion. We recognize the changing communication ecosystem and value our interaction with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and anyone else who is interested in learning about our fight against cancer.

As a leading oncology biopharmaceutical organization we hold ourselves to the highest ethical, legal, and regulatory standards unique to this industry. Millennium has established a presence on select channels to engage audiences in a way that meets our objectives of joining in the conversation that social media enables, while responsibly communicating with the public. To do so, we have developed a set of guidelines to better help our followers understand the unique parameters of how we will utilize these platforms.

Following are the guidelines for each channel in which we participate.

Twitter

Mentions and retweets are welcomed! However, we will not respond to inflammatory tweets, hateful attacks on Millennium or other Twitter users, or obscene language.

We will do our best to answer your comments and questions; however, there may be some things we cannot address, such as questions directly related to financial, legal, regulatory, confidential information, or medical issues.

Facebook

You are encouraged to join the conversation by adding your thoughts and information to our Channels. However, depending on the channel, any content that is in violation of our Terms of Use will be removed by our administrators. Ensure you understand our Terms of Use before posting information. Specifically, we will not tolerate inflammatory comments, hateful attacks on Millennium or other users, or obscene language. We will do our best to answer your comments and questions; however, there may be some things we cannot address, such as questions directly related to financial, legal, regulatory, confidential information or medical issues. Comments are screened for adherence to our terms and conditions which state:

  • Do not discuss branded pharmaceuticals. There are regulatory requirements that prohibit us from allowing these comments on our channel.
  • No hate speech, pornography, or other illegal material.
  • No personal attacks. It is encouraged for all parties to debate the issues, but personal attacks on any user or 3rd party entity will not be tolerated.

Otherwise, have at it. Millennium wants to hear from you about our work in the fight against cancer. In scenarios when Millennium cannot post your comment, we will send a private message to you explaining why.

YouTube

We accept comments on our YouTube channel; however we are required to screen all comments before posting them. Comments are screened for adherence to our terms and conditions which state:

Examples of topics that are encouraged are ways we can improve our materials on YouTube and suggestions for other video topics you would like to see. In scenarios when Millennium cannot post your comment, we will send a private message to you explaining why.
