As we develop important new medicines to treat diseases like cancer, cardiovascular diseases and inflammation, Millennium seeks to continuously demonstrate our ethical, clinical and scientific good intentions to the public. We believe that patients, family members, health professionals and members of the public should have access to medically important information on Millennium clinical research.
Millennium notifies the public of the start of all Company-sponsored clinical research for serious and life-threatening conditions on
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov, a National Institutes of Health registry (a list) of ongoing clinical trials that are open and recruiting patients with serious and life-threatening diseases. Using this registry, Millennium also notifies the public of the start of the Company's later-stage clinical trials anywhere in the world, regardless of the disease or condition being studied. This notification reflects the Company's commitment to provide patients and physicians with a list of more advanced clinical trials that are open and recruiting patients.
Millennium publishes results of completed, hypothesis-testing clinical trials of its marketed product, VELCADE
® (bortezomib) for Injection, in a timely, objective, accurate, and balanced manner – regardless of outcome. We believe that publication in a peer-reviewed medical journal is preferable, although other ways to publish these trial results (for example, abstracts, posters, or presentations at scientific meetings) are possible. When these trial results are published in a peer-reviewed journal, Millennium will post a citation (and, where possible, a link) to the journal article on
http://www.clinicalstudyresults.org, a central, widely accessible clinical trials results database. Where these trial results are not published in a peer-reviewed journal, Millennium will post a summary of the trial results on
http://www.clinicalstudyresults.org. In publishing these results, Millennium adheres to the requirements of
http://www.clinicalstudyresults.org and the Principles on Conduct of Clinical Trials and Communication of Clinical Trial Results promulgated by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).
Millennium welcomes the opportunity to work with lawmakers, government officials and other stakeholders to strengthen understanding of the reliability and credibility of clinical research, which is vital to advancing medicine and improving health.
