A Phase III randomized clinical trial with bortezomib and rituximab versus rituximab alone in patients with follicular B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

A number of Phase I and Phase II clinical trials in which bortezomib is being studied as a single agent or in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents as a potential treatment for hematologic malignancies including non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia, and various solid tumors including lung, breast, prostate and ovarian cancers are ongoing.

Clinical trials of VELCADE closed to enrollment include:

Phase IV, open label study assessing efficacy, safety, and tolerability of retreatment with VELCADE® (bortezomib) in multiple myeloma patients

Phase III, open label randomized study of bortezomib melphalan/prednisone (VMP) versus melphalan/prednisone (MP) in previously untreated multiple myeloma

Phase III randomized study of bortezomib in combination with dexamethasone (VEL/Dex) versus vincristine, adriamycin, dexamethasone (VAD) as induction therapy in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients prior to stem cell transplantation. (IFM)
